HELP THESE GROUPS - STOP THE KILLING
Create a no-kill community....because you care
- GEORGIA: 95% euthanasia rate, almost no hope. They need a new shelter and a lot of yearly funding in addition to education and spayathons. Will you offer hope?http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA411.html
- MICHIGAN: "Friends of Ingham County Animals is excited to announce a new project
that we hope will make a noticeable impact on intake #'s at local shelters. Through the Angel Project, we plan to spay/neuter 1,000 dogs and cats for low-income Ingham County residents during 2006. We have enlisted local Veterinarians, businesses & donors to assist in this effort. We have a lot of work ahead of us to make this project a success and we need your help! As of May 2006, we have spay/neutered just over 200 dogs & cats!!! $50,000 will spay/neuter 1,000 cats/dogs for low-income residents of Ingham County. Thus far we have raised $20,000 towards our goal for 2006. According to the Humane Society of the US, one female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats in seven years and one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in six years. By spay/neutering 1,000 animals thousands of lives will be saved throughout our community."
We do work with other rescues. In fact our Angel Project is co-sponsored by other rescue organizations. While I have personally worked with many many rescues in the past as well as the local shelter, I am now convinced that spay/neuter is the most effective way to save lives. There will never be enough rescues or homes for all of the unwanted animals unless we all come together and work towards prevention. - MICHIGAN: Lenawee Humane Society, 705 W. Beecher St., Adrian, MI 49221, 517-263-3463 $25,000 for spaying/neutering, $25,000 staff funding, a no-kill shelter which GREATLY needs your assistance.
- TEXAS: COMMUNITY SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE: We advertise and give certificates to our participating vets here in our county. We charge a co-pay depending if the animal is male or female, and a dog or cat. We have s/n approximately 200 animals in our community through our program. A five thousand dollar donation into this fund would S/N approximately 80 animals. $5,000 will s/n approx. 80 and prevent 1,000s of shelter deaths within a short time.

- We at Heartsong Animal Rescue decided to take the issue into our hands, and are currently renovating a building to open Sept. 1, 2006.
- We need some funding to continue, and be open on time. We have been asking for help, and we get small amounts here and there. HEARTSON Animal Rescue saves animals from many "kill" shelters, and it is my passion for these animals that has prompted me to do this clinic. We have our DEA, and everything is coming together. We have a lot of volunteers to help with the renovations. We only acquired the lease on the property this week, and have already done lots of the work.
